DEFINITIONS
A blog (web log) is a frequently updated web site with entries displayed in reverse chronological order, similar to a personal journal. Blogs are authored by individuals or group of individuals, and often invite commentary from readers.
A blawg is a web log focusing on a law-related topic.
WHY LOOK AT LEGAL BLOGS?
They are a good way to keep up with new developments and resources in different areas of the law, as well as opinions and commentary on legal topics. Be aware that blogs are not traditional peer-reviewed resources.

Blawg: Your Source for Law-Related Weblogs
A comprehensive and frequently updated listing of blogs. There is a topical DIRECTORY of blawgs as well as a SEARCH ENGINE. In addition to U.S.-based blawgs, coverage includes “World Blawgs,” legal blogs from outside the U.S. It is maintained by Bill Gratsch, a law firm web technologies manager.
Blawg Republic
A digest view of the latest news and commentary from the legal blogging community, using a real-time search engine, updated each hour. In addition, there is a Blawg Directory of almost 50 topics.
BlawgSearch
A blawg search engine and a blawg directory from Justia, a legal media and technology company. Justia also maintains a portal linking to case law, codes, regulations, legal articles, legal blogs, and community resources.
A Taxonomy of Legal Blogs
A directory created by University of Cincinnati law student Ian Best. The blog lists are organized by many different characteristics: General, Legal Specialty, Law or Legal Event, Jurisdictional Scope, Author/Publisher, Number of Contributors, Miscellaneous Blogs Categorized by Topic, and Collections of Legal Blogs.
