Tibetan Legal Manuscripts
In 2004 Prof. Rebecca French donated ten Tibetan legal manuscripts to the Law Library. Prof. French is a noted scholar on Tibetan Buddhism and law and is author of the seminal work, The Golden Yoke: The Legal Cosmology of Buddhist Tibet (Cornell Univ. Press, 1995). Below are photos from the exhibit created in honor of the Dalai Lama's visit to the University at Buffalo in September 2006 and especially His Holiness' participation in the conference held in the Law Library on Wednesday, September 20th, 2006, entitled "Law, Buddhism and Social Change: A Conversation with the 14th the Dalai Lama."
