NOTES:

DNC = does not circulate
ONL = overnight loan
HR/ONL = 2 hour, overnight loan

(*) Yellow tape indicates RESERVE. Yellow tape is placed at top of spine. All other tape colors are placed at bottom of the spine. Follow procedure on first page of End Processing instructions for Reserve. Also place a piece of clear tape under the yellow tape.

(**) Normally, US 01-99 circulate, therefore need date due slips. Occasionally though, a title does not circulate, and will be marked on the call number flag as DNC (does not circulate). In these cases, stamp with DNC. (Don't put in date due slip.)

BINDERS: Because the top cannot be property stamped easily, and pages are sometimes inserted, do not property stamp the top of the binder, but instead, place a SUNY BUFFALO LAW property sticker inside the front and back covers. Do not tattletape binders. Also, when placing colored tape on binders, take care not to wrap tape around opening in binders.

ABBREVIATIONS OF WORDS IN CALL NUMBER: Refer to the Abbreviations List in the End Processor's Guide in the black binder for any word (including month of year) that is included as part of the call number.

Volumes In Self-Closing Wrappers:

  1. Be very careful when handling these books, as they are considered brittle by the Preservation Dept.
  2. There is no need to add a barcode. The barcode will already be in the back of the book, since it was necessary to check it out to the Preservation Dept. for construction of the wrapper. Also, the phrase "+wrapper" will have been pencilled under the barcode.
  3. Make sure that the book is standing upright. End-process by adding the call number label (and tape if needed) to the base of the spine on the wrapper.
