16mm Motion Picture Presentations
16mm motion picture projectors are available for use in all O'Brian classrooms and Koren AV Center rooms. For media titles in the 16mm format, the Koren AV Center will order the film or pull it from the AV collection. Department staff will reserve a 16mm projector and a 4" speaker for use in a lecture or presentation. Please contact the AV Librarian or Instructional Support Associate for more information. 35mm Slide Projections
For instruction that requires a slide projection, 35 mm slide projectors with wire remotes are available for use in any O'Brian classroom or Koren AV Center rooms. See Screens
Digital Cameras
Digital cameras are available for use in all O'Brian classrooms and Koren AV Center rooms. Please contact the AV Librarian or Instructional Support Associate for more information.
DVD Player
A DVD player is available for all O'Brian Law School classrooms. If a lecture or presentation requires a DVD set-up, please request one of the following:
- For the first floor O'Brian classrooms request a video projector, the DVD player, and a 4" speaker. (For Room 106 a large sound system speaker may be necessary)
- For all other O'Brian classrooms and Koren AV Center Rooms request a 27" video monitor and the DVD player.
Interactive Smartboard
The department is equipped with an interactive board that allows for computer based instruction directly from the board.
Overhead Transparency Projections
Overhead projectors are available for use in lectures and presentations for any O'Brian classroom and Koren rooms. See also Screens
Powerpoint and Web/Internet Presentations
Data show capability is available in all Law School classrooms, Koren AV Center rooms and the Law Library electronic classroom. For lectures and presentations requiring a showing of video or data, please request the Proxima data/video projector. Include a laptop in the request if the presenters require one. Also indicate what software will be used (i.e. Internet or Powerpoint) so that the Koren AV Center can configure the PC being used in the classroom properly. Please be sure to specify if you will be needing internet access during the presentation. See also Screens
Screens
The Koren AV Center is equipped with two 8' x 8' and two 6" x 6" screens. All O'Brian classrooms, with the exceptions of 406, 545 and 706 and the Koren AV Center rooms, have mounted screens. When Koren AV Center staff take an order for a projection set-up in a room without a mounted screen, the Koren AV Center will automatically include a screen in the set-up. For more information on what screen size to use please contact the AV Librarian.
Typewriters
Two typewriters are available for use in the lab area of the Koren AV Center.
Visual Presenter
For projecting printed documents and objects, please request the Elmo Visual Presenter which is available for use in all O'Brian classrooms or Koren AV Center rooms. The visual presenter works with a Proxima data projector and the department will reserve both pieces of equipment for use in your classroom/presentation when requested.
Laptop Computers
The Koren AV Center maintains an inventory of laptop computers that it uses for classroom instructional set-ups only. The Koren AV Center laptop computers do not circulate outside of O'Brian Hall. For more information, please contact the AV Librarian.
Video Playback
Video playback is available for all O'Brian Law School classrooms. If a lecture or presentation requires a VHS or U-Matic video playback set-up, please request one of the following with the designated video format (VHS or U-Matic):
- For the first floor O'Brian classrooms request a video projector, a VCR, and a 4" speaker. (For Room 106 a large sound system speaker may be necessary)
- For all other O'Brian classrooms and Koren AV Center Rooms request a 27" video monitor and a VHS VCR.
Thermafax Transparencies
The Koren AV Center is equipped with a 3M Transparency Maker for making black and white transparencies from photocopies. Please contact the Koren AV Center staff to make arrangements for printing Thermafax transparencies.
