Access to Westlaw and Lexis
The Law Library maintains an educational subscription for the LexisNexis and Westlaw online databases. The licensing agreement stipulates that any work done under the educational subscription must be for educational use and be non-fee generating.
Students enrolled in the Law School are entitled to access the LexisNexis and Westlaw online databases at no charge. First-year students will receive LexisNexis and Westlaw passwords at a computer orientation session held during orientation week. For information on obtaining a password, if you are eligible and do not have one, please consult a reference librarian at the reference desk in the Law Library.
LexisNexis and Westlaw printers are located on the 2nd floor (Room 221B) and the 6th floor.
Non-Law Patrons
Non-law patrons may access Westlaw Patron Access for New York legal information and Keycite in the Law Library. Guests are required to register for an access card. An academic version of LexisNexis, LexisNexis Academic, is available to all UB-affiliates. A UBIT name and password are required for off campus access.
