Borrowing Privileges
The Charles B. Sears Law Library at the University at Buffalo extends borrowing privileges to the following:
- UB faculty and students with UB Cards
- Western New York attorneys may apply for a Courtesy Borrower card. The identification required is a Unified Court System I.D. card or current bar association membership card and proof of current address (such as a driver's license).
- Non-UB SUNY faculty and students with current college/university I.D.
- Persons not affiliated with SUNY may apply for a Friends of the University Libraries card.
- Area corporations may apply for Corporate Borrowing privileges.
- UB Law School Alumni Association members will be issued Law Courtesy Borrower cards.
- UB Alumni Association members with current Association membership cards.
Borrower Responsibilities
Lost Borrowing Cards
Borrowers are responsible for all library transactions made with their UB Card or other borrowing cards. Lost or stolen UB Cards should be reported to the UB Card Office as soon as possible. All other lost borrowing cards should be reported to the BISON Billing and Borrowing Office located in Room 118 of the Undergraduate Library in Capen Hall or at 645-5950.
Change of Address
To ensure timely receipt of important library notices, borrowers must inform the University when their address changes. Students are encouraged to use the available Web form under the "My Profile" heading while logged on to MyUB. UB Students also may contact the UB Student Response Center to notify the University of their change of address.
